NEW YORK (CNN/Money) -A pharmaceutical company is set to file a patent application to add a drug to its Celebrex brand name, the company said Thursday.
The company will be required to manufacture the drug in its own production facility, the company said in a statement. The application will be heard in a meeting of the company's board of directors.
Celebrex, which treats arthritis pain and reduces swelling in adults with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, is one of Pfizer Inc.'s most-researched drugs. It was approved for use in the United States in 1998.
